The Hamilton International School (THIS) is one of Doha's premier schools and opened in 2019, with the Secondary School opening in 2020.

We offer a unique opportunity for an IB DP Coordinator/Subject Teacher to join our team in August 2023.

The Secondary School is currently open to students in Grades 6 to 10 and will open Grade 11 in August 2023 and Grade 12 in August 2024.

We offer a high quality, bespoke, International Curriculum in Grades 6, 7 and 8.

In Grades 9 and 10, our students begin the High School Diploma and we aim to offer two pathways in Grades 11 and 12:
the High School Diploma and the IB Diploma.


About the role

  • Overseeing the planning, implementation and monitoring of the IB Diploma Programme in line with the IB regulations
  • Providing staff, students and parents with comprehensive information regarding the IB DP, its philosophy, aims and requirements
  • Developing policies and practices relating to the IB DP
  • Developing and implementing an IB DP action plan based on the IB Standards and Practices
  • Providing overall leadership for Learning and Teaching for the IB DP
  • Supporting staff in the development of IB DP courses
  • Establishing high expectations of team members and learners
  • Strengthening learning and teaching through a programme of professional development and practical support
  • Developing and publishing the IB DP Programme of Study
  • Overseeing the Extended Essay, TOK and CAS programmes in partnership with the teachers responsible for those areas
  • Working closely with the Curriculum Coordinator and Pastoral Leaders, advising students on post16 pathways
  • Devising an assessment tracker and analysing progress of students, as well as reporting key data to SLT
  • Leading the implementation of a MIS relevant to the IB DP
  • Any other duties as deemed reasonable by the Head of Secondary
