• Works conforming to the currentMIA- QM's mission, strategic goals, values, policies, andprocedures.
• Ensures the long-term care of therelevant collection but also helps to prepare and install temporaryexhibitions.
• Surveys the collection, checks andrecords condition of individualobjects.
• Prepares Ceramics & Glasscollection care plan (treatment proposals, time assessment andprioritizing) as well as individual conservation proposals inconsultation with Curatorial Department.
• Carries out conservation treatment and keepsdetailed and complete Conservationrecords.
• Applies preventive conservationprinciples with focus on Ceramics & Glass collection.Monitors storage and display conditions to ensure safety/stabilityof objects. He/she should have a comprehensive knowledge of themonitoring and controlling system of the collection'senvironment.
• Undertakes material /technological examination and documentation of collection objectsand occasionally of objects proposed foracquisition.
• Records all activities related tothe examination and conservation of Ceramics and Glass collection(using the MIA Collections Management System – KE EMudatabase)
• Supervises or occasionallymanufactures storage or shipment packaging for objects. Ifrequired, he accompanies objects during handling or/and shipment toother locations.
