QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Preferably with UPDA Certificate. PMP is additional credit, if any.
  • Minimum 15 years of regional / international experience of design wet utilities (Storm, Potable, Sewerage, Irrigation) and preferably dry utilities (Electrical).
  • We are looking for a team player with strong interpersonal, communication and excellent report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD (Civil 3D) and other PC software packages typically associated with wet services engineering is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The engineer shall be able to independently carry out designs of collection, conveyance, and disposal of Gravity/Pressure networks. The engineer shall have advance experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure/gravity network, design reports and conversant with design software like Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems, Bentley Hammer and WANDA software. Knowledge of latest software like Civil 3D, Dynamo, Python, Open Roads, Open Utilities, GIS is preferred.
  • Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as ASHGHAL, KAHRAMAA etc. and other relevant authorities within Qatar.
  • Working knowledge of planning, designing and construction of water supply systems, including Water treatment, pumping systems, intake structures, etc.,
  • Shall have basic experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities
  • ASHGHAL, KAHRAMAA etc.
  • Preparation of technical specifications and design reports. Shall be conversant with the British and American codes as well as ASHGHAL, KAHRAMAA etc. regulations for the design of infrastructure related systems.
  • Shall have experience of liaising with service providers agencies for obtaining NOCs and Design Approvals, etc.
  • Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Recommends and prepares technical papers.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Leads, manages and coordinates the activities of all electrical engineering staff; and coordinates with the Infrastructure Design Manager
  • Serves as primary interface with the design consultants and construction contractor in performing design reviews or addressing constructionrelated issues related to the electrical systems
  • Act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
  • Maintains awareness of the project electrical specifications, drawings and design criteria
  • Provides regular reports on progress to the Infrastructure Design Manager.
  • Flexible to work extra hours including at odd time night / weekends / holidays etc. to finalize the tasks.
