  This position isphysically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP Under thesupervision of Fire Chief, provides oversight for all fire alarmand suppression systems; peripheral equipment, components, andsubsystems of Fire Protection Systems. Including, Inspection,Testing and Maintenance (ITM) program and Project Management of newinstallations, renovations, and upgrades of Fire Protectionsystems. Ensure Code compliance and all contractual obligations arebeing adhered IAW UFC, UFC, UFC, NFPA 13, NFPA 72, NFPA 101 and allapplicable Local, State and Federal Code. Organize Projects fromthe Design through Commissioning and Acceptance from customer whilecontinuing to provide exemplary ITM services. Responsibilities Thisposition description is subject to change at any time as needed tomeet the requirements of the program or company.
• TheFire Protection Systems Manager serves as a liaison to internaldepartments and external customers and is responsible for managingall administrative and technical requirements for contractrequirements.
• Provides leadership for the Leads in thearea of maintenance and repair of all Fire Protection systemsassociated with fire detection and suppression and providesguidance for activities related to contract administration, changeorders, submittals, procurement, project financials, and schedulesto ensure projects are completed in a quality, profitable, safe,and timely manner.
• Monitor job costs, expenses andquality control of all project activities to ensure completionwithin contractual time & budget constraints.
• Simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects andissues with tact, cooperation, and persistence providing a strongknowledge base of engineering fundamentals.
• Participatein site management meetings and initiate proactive coordinationeffort for projects.
• Ensure accountability for parts,tools, equipment and materials required for work performance andwork assignments.
• Participate in Project Review Boards,Facilities Engineering Work Request reviews, DPW UpdateSynchronization meeting, in-process reviews (IPRs) and otherprograms to ensure fire protection requirements are beingfulfilled.
• Performs the majority of work in thesensitive and secure areas of military installations and facilitiesin accordance with the established security procedures of the U.S.Army and contract requirements.
• Prepares and completesrequired work documents, reports, CDRL's to ensurecompliance with the PWS.
• Acts as Subject Matter Expertfor the fire protection systems, reviews submittals for FireProtection and acts as a witness in concert with the military forcommission & acceptance.
• Providesrecommendations to the US Government for the need for new systemsand repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Education/Experience Requirements
• Qualifications must meet the criteria as outlined in UFC. Recognizejourneyman or craftsman-level qualification for fire alarm systems.

Examples include, but are not limited to, certification in FireAlarms NICET level III or Wet Pipe Sprinkler Systems NICET LevelIII, formalized labor organization-based journeyman training, validcurrent qualification of license from any state, or factorytraining for all fire protection system/sub-systems of allsubordinates.

• Associates degree and two years'experience or High School Diploma and six years'experience that can be documented. Examples include previous jobdescriptions, DD214 and Military/Civilian Performance reports, jobexperience letter on company or corporate letterhead from previousemployers.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must beable to obtain and maintain valid Secret Clearance
• Avalid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U. S.Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and hostnation Driver's License is required.

• Documented twelve years, 20 plus yearspreferred, experience in Shop management functions, scheduling andworking with foreign nationals.
• Provide overallmanagement of a shop with strict compliance standards formaintenance, repair and installation of UL listed fire protectionsystems.
• Must be able to provide and evaluate documentsdetailing deficiencies and corrective action.
• Referencesand previous employers contact information must be provided forverification purposes.
• Will also be required toformulate project timelines and develop metric on system functionand complete analysis on system risk management.

• Must have the ability in to evaluate firedetection/suppression installations and determine correctiveaction.
• Must have sufficient knowledge of English tounderstand technical instructions and documents and accomplish workfrom these documents.
• SIMPLEX, VESDA, and ANSUL R-102Systems factory training required.
• Experienced in theinspection, testing and repair of water-based suppression systems.
• Experienced in the inspection, testing and repair offire pumps.
• Experienced in the inspection, testing andrepair of ANSUL R-102 Systems.
• Experienced in thetroubleshooting and repair of fire alarm, water-based suppression,pre-engineered suppression systems and fire pump controllers.
• Excellent organization and communications skills, bothwritten and verbal, are required.
• Must be knowledgeablein computer all aspects of Microsoft Office.

• Supervise a sectionof 2 Supervisors, 12 technicians and 13 maintenance personnel. Allrequired reporting, submission of inspection reports and requiredcontract documentation.

• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions withtemperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Indoorand/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions(i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperaturesof 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
• Includes some industrial production environmentconditions as well.

• Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/orup to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds offorce constantly to move objects.
• Work may require heavylifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting,and working with or in areas where a potential could exist forexposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required forsome situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot,torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
