• BSc/SA or equivalent in InteriorDesign, Civil or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years broad experience in building projects, and abilityto identify and formulate practical solutions to the spectrum ofarchitectural and interior design issues.
• Experience in both design and construction works, prepare scope ofworks and specification writing, with knowledge in reviewing andrecommending a large range of building materials, isessential.
• Carries out his duties inaccordance with accepted Engineering practices keeping hissupervisor(s) informed on routine matters.
• Review design brief with Senior Project Engineers and wherenecessary seek further clarification before proceeding withtask.
• Ensure designs accommodate the spacerequirements.
• Working with other DisciplineEngineers assigned to the project, ensure compatibility betweeninterior systems / FF&E systems and architectural systems,structural systems and building serviceselements.
• Ensure interior designs, finishesand FF&E selections are feasible, practical, andappropriate to the project, meet the end-user needs and are costeffective.
• Achieve familiarization with theEDS - Special Projects Archive and Architectural, Interior, Civil,Structural and Building Services record drawings and retrieve therefrom when directed by the Head Designer/ Lead Discipline and LeadProject Engineers/ Senior Project Engineers.
• When required coordinate with Senior Designers(Architectural/Civil) to arrange for update to drawings to meet therequirements of the Design brief.
• Assist inthe updating of a register of materials standards, specificationsand standard details.
• Estimate and report toHead Designer and/or Senior Project Engineers on the man-hourrequirement to meet each task in good time to enable all work to beprogrammed.
