    KEY ROLEACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Communicates effectively withpatients, families and members of the health care team.
    • Makes autonomous decisions related to the plans of care forchildren.
    • Makes recommendations regarding assessment andspecialist interventions that impact patients and families andcollaborating staff/colleagues.
    • Acts as an advocate byempowering children and their families to make informed choices byproviding them with information and support and directing to therelevant support services when appropriate.
    • Promotespatient satisfaction as a team member by demonstration ofexceptional service.
    • Utilizing a professional practiceframework and evidence based care, identify improvements whileminimizing risks creating care that is optimal for our patients andfamilies.
    • Promotes a safe environment and safe patientcare by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk toPhysical Therapy Supervisor. Complies with policies for personaland patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare associatedinfections.
    • Reports equipment failures, safety andsecurity issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to PhysicalTherapy Supervisor or designee.
    • Working under thesupervision of the Clinical Supervisor makes decisions related toservice delivery.
    • Makes recommendations to thesupervisor regarding decisions that have a unit/service impact.
    • Contributes to the achievement of cost efficiencysavings for the service. Maintains an awareness of resourceutilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff,equipment and materials.
    • Takes an active role in serviceactivities that contribute to excellence in outcomes, a positivepatient experience and a healthy professional environment.
    Contributes to the achievement of clinical quality outcomeindicators and patient satisfaction. Leads service basedPerformance Improvement activities and organizational committees asassigned. Contributes to special projects/assignments linked totherapy strategic priorities and professional practice model.

    • Participates in the continued development,implementation, and evaluation of Sidra Policy and Procedures toalign with international best practices.
    • Liaises andworks within an inter-professional practice model to ensure highquality, holistic, and safe family centered care.
    • Promotes and shares knowledge via mentorship/preceptorship programsin line with relevant research and evidence based practice.
    • Actively participates in the development programs thatseek to measure outcomes and quality, including audit and researchstudies, under guidance, support and direction of senior staff.
    • Actively participates in patient education programs
    • Develops and sustains (maintains) own knowledge,clinical skills (mandatory training) and professional (portfolio orprofile) awareness and maintains a professional profile. Providesdocumented evidence of performance and maintenance of skillsconsistent with position.
    • Participates in newstaff/student orientation aimed at developing competence andperformance. Assists in maintaining a suitable learning environmentand acts as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching oftherapy students and new staff to develop their competence.
    • Demonstrates transcultural principles in physicaltherapy practice.
    • Actively participates in the promotionand maintenance of effective communication and teamwork. Treatscolleagues, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect at alltimes.
    • Actively welcomes and provides support for newstaff/students to the unit. Contributes to the retention of allstaff to meet the service specific turnover rate goal. Participatesin retention activities.
    • Maintains a professionaldemeanor at all times. Acts as a role model for junior staff.
    • Upholds the organizational values at all times.
    • Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
    • Maintains confidentiality of women and children at alltimes
    • Responsible for maintaining up to date mandatoryLife Support Training requirements as directed by MoPH and Sidra(e.g. BLS, AED etc).

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTIONCRITERIA ESSENTIAL Education Bachelor's Degree inPhysiotherapy Experience 5+ years of clinical physiotherapyexperience in an accredited Healthcare or related environment withextensive specific, specialist pediatric experience Certificationand Licensure
    • Registration as a Physiotherapist andLicensure in country of origin
    • Eligible to get licenseby QCHP Job Specific Skills and Abilities
