N Position Type Management JOB SUMMARY Entry levelmanagement position that focuses on performing all types ofdecoration as instructed by Executive Sous-Chef and Executive Chefin a professional way to ensure quality and consistency, and isfully responsible for assigned section and successfullyaccomplishing the daily objectives in the kitchen.

    Assists inleading staff while personally assisting in all areas of thekitchen, including food production; purchasing and kitchensanitation. Position contributes to ensuring guest and employeesatisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. CANDIDATEPROFILE Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or GED; 4years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or relatedprofessional area.
    OR - 2-year degree from an accredited universityin Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or relatedmajor; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, orrelated professional area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Ensuring CulinaryStandards and Responsibilities are Met
    • Maintains food handlingand sanitation standards.
    • Performs all duties of Culinary andrelated kitchen area employees in high demand times.
    • Overseesproduction and preparation of culinary items.
    • Ensures employeeskeep their work areas clean and sanitary.
    • Works with Restaurantand Banquet departments to coordinate service and timing of eventsand meals.
    • Complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.
    • Strives to improve service performance.
    • Communicates areas inneed of attention to staff and follows up to ensure follow through.
    • Leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executingrequests based on required specifications.
    • Prepares and cooksfoods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guestsor functions.
    • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks andworkers engaged in food preparation.
    • Checks the quality of rawand cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
    • Assists in determining how food should be presented and createsdecorative food displays.
    Supporting Culinary Team Activities
    • Supervises daily shift operations.
    • Ensures all employees haveproper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
    • Supervises staffinglevels to ensure that guest service, operational needs andfinancial objectives are met.
    • Ensures completion of assignedduties.
    • Participates in the employee performance appraisalprocess, giving feedback as needed.
    • Handles employee questionsand concerns.
    • Communicates performance expectations in accordancewith job descriptions for each position.
    • Participates in anon going employee recognition program.
    • Conducts training whenappropriate.
    • Monitors employee's progress towards meetingperformance expectations.
    Maintaining Culinary Goals
    • Participatesin department meetings and continually communicates a clear andconsistent message regarding the departmental goals to producedesired results.
    • Supports and assists with new menus, conceptsand promotions for the Restaurant outlets and Banquets.
    ProvidingExceptional Customer Service
    • Sets a positive example for guestrelations.
    • Handles guest problems and complaints seekingassistance from supervisor as necessary.
    • Empowers employees toprovide excellent customer service within guidelines.
    AdditionalResponsibilities
    • Reports malfunctions in department equipment.
    • Purchases appropriate supplies and manages food and supplyinventories according to budget.
    • Attends and participates in allpertinent meetings.
