JOB RESPONSI
BILITIES:

The main responsibilities of the AI & Data Engineer include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to understand project requirements and define
    predictive or
    generative AI solutions.
  • Design and develop machine learning models, algorithms, and neural networks for data analysis, prediction, and decisionmaking.
  • Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to train and validate AI models.
  • Implement predictive and LLMbased AI solutions using programming languages (such as Python) and machine learning frameworks (such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikitlearn).
  • Optimize and finetune AI models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Deploy AI models into production environments, ensuring stability, reliability, and security.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed models, and iterate on improvements.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI capabilities into existing or new software systems.
  • Document and communicate AI solutions, methodologies, and best practices to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


The applicant should hold a Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.


He/she should have the following skills:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in data science / AI projects
  • Very good knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their realworld advantages/drawbacks
  • Strong Knowledge of neutral networksbased architectures: CNN, RNN, GAN, RL, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in NLP/LLM and the ability to implement NLP techniques effectively.
  • Knowledge of Deep learning frameworks: PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.
  • Solid handson experience in development, debugging, and troubleshooting software and systems
  • Previous experience with some data visualization frameworks and tools: Tableau, , Google charts, etc.
  • Very good Knowledge and experience in Python to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets and build data models
  • Knowledge of geospatial analytics is desirable
  • Prior industrial experience is an asset
  • Capability to work autonomously and effectively in an asynchronous work environment.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and create comprehensive and clear technical documentation.

The Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC) is the first independent innovations center in the region with a focus on using R&D to develop and deploy Intelligent Mobility and Smart Cities platforms and technologies.

QMIC's main goal is to use locally engineered innovations & knowledge to enable creating home-grown technology industries that address national strategies and tackle regional emerging challenges.

It was founded by Qatar University in 2009 and is registered and licensed to operate as a technology innovations center from the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).
