    Oversees food production including menuplanning, food preparation, portion control, presentation, andservice to the highest standards including planning and supervisingthe preparation and cooking of meals.

    Responsible for planning,preparing, and managing financial budgets to achieve set targets.
    Oversees the procurement and management of food items needed forcatering work. Assists in the preparation of annual cateringbudgets and meeting or exceeding budget targets, making efficientand effective use of sources. To produce cost /sales analysis asrequired and lead in the development and implementation ofeffective pricing strategies. Ensures all catering operations areconducted according to appropriate food safety policies andprocedures. Researches to discover new trends in the industry,including menu taste and consumer preferences. Oversees inventorymanagement and minimizes waste through an effective and efficientprocess of storage and regular stock checks.

    Job Responsibilities 2Guide and train staff in the preparation of different recipesEnsures all relevant policies/regulations, including health,safety, and hygiene policies of the firm are maintained whenperforming their functions.

    Ensures that heavy-duty kitchenequipment, light equipment, work areas, other facilities, andgeneral surroundings of the kitchen and dining areas are maintainedto the standards required by the statutory, local authority,safety, and hygiene regulations and policies.

    Likewise, ensure thatcatering staff use safe methods of work at all times Ensures thatall catering personnel maintain high standards of cleanliness,personal hygiene, and appearance Maintains good and professionalrelationships with customers and addresses any customer requests,suggestions, and orders promptly.

    Ensures that the higheststandards of customer care are upheld, including handling positiveand negative feedback swiftly, effectively, and professionallyEncourage and promotes harmonious working relationship within theteam.

    • Knowledge oflegislative requirements relating to the catering industry.
    • Working knowledge of relevant codes ofpractice/legislation and quality assurance systems.
    • Foodhygiene and first aid training /certification and evidence ofcontinuous professional development.
    • Knowledge of foodservice, food production, and employee management.
    Knowledge ofpersonal health standards.

    • Experience in the FoodService industry or large volume meal services.
    • Strongleadership and team development skills.
    • Solid writtenand verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in acommercial approach, devising initiatives to improve the service tothe customer.
    • Extensive experience in managing acatering service and successfully leading a team of staff in ahigh-volume food production outlet.
    • Excellentinterpersonal and customer-facing skills and the ability tomaintain professionalism, and display patience, resilience, andpoliteness within a pressurized environment.
    • Ability tocoordinate and organize the activities of catering personnel toensure customer satisfaction and increased returns.
