• Activelyparticipates in the technical and analytical work of the section.
• Liaises with Senior Technologist / Supervisor on theappropriateness of tests, results and additional testing asrequired.
• Monitors, records, and reports back results,participating in the discussion to rectify areas of concern ifnecessary.
• In liaison with the Senior Technologist /Supervisor, ensures adequate stocks of reagents and consumables areavailable for the efficient running of the service.
• Inliaison with the Senior Technologist / Supervisor, providestechnical advice on, and assists in the selection/validation of newequipment.
• Takes responsibility for the maintenance andsafe use of equipment within the section.
• Helps toensure the provision of a high quality, cost-effective service withthe emphasis on quality assurance in all aspects of the sectionsupervised by monitoring and audit of internal quality control.
• Uses LIS to generate workload statistics and runqueries. Assess quality of data according to defined criteria.
• Participates in the external quality assurance schemesthat the department subscribes to.
• Carries outcorrective action as advised when the quality control proceduresfail.
• Assists in ensuring achievement of and maintainingCAP, JCI and ISO15189 standards in the section.
• Ensurespolicies and procedures for the sections are adhered to.
• Participates in the training (theoretical and practical) oftechnical staff in methodologies, principles, and procedures by wayof tutorials, presentations, and seminars.
• Maintainslicensing and registration with Qatari authorities.
• Participates in the implementation of new methodologies under thedirection of the Senior Technologist / Supervisor.
• Participates in research and development as directed by the SeniorTechnologist / Supervisor.
• Adheres to TVH standards asthey appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interestpolicies.
• Maintains open lines of communication withcolleagues, internal and external stakeholders to ensure effectivecooperation and consultation.
• Investigates and takesaction to resolve the problems with analytical methods andequipment.
• Communicates with colleagues within thedepartment on a range of complex subjects and co-operates andconsults with medical, scientific, and clerical staff throughoutthe hospital staff. Technical Responsibilities
• Functional knowledge and clinical experience.
• Knowledgeof and experience with clinical safety and risks.
• Knowledge of ISO, JCI standards, and guidelines.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Officesuite
