- Manage technology services thatmeet operational requirements in designated area(s) of theUniversity.
- Serves as the lead IT liaison withsenior administration, faculty, staff and students in designatedarea(s) to understand and interpret client needs at a divisionlevel and to collaborate across lines in meeting thoseneeds.
- Directs and coordinates the localimplementation of University IT operations, projects, and programs,ensuring alignment of IT services with the business needs of thearea(s) and adherence to established project management principlesand best management practices.
- Providestechnical leadership on a variety of highly specializedproject-related activities requiring expertise in specifictechnical areas for core information technology systems andservices.
- Reviews vendor contracts andcoordinates IT purchases (hardware, software and services) toensure effective deployment of solutions aligned with userneeds.
- Delivers appropriate personnel actionsand educational and training programs to ensure high qualityprofessional staff performance in the area(s) ofoversight.
- Participates in the development,implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short- andlong-range IT planning, with an emphasis on advocating for theneeds of the area(s) supported; implements tracking and evaluationprograms to assist in accomplishment of establishedgoals.
- Participates in the documentation andimplementation of policies and standard operating proceduresconsistent with those of the university to ensure effectiveoperation of an organization.
- Participates indevelopment of IT Service Catalog offerings, Service LevelAgreements, and Operating Level Agreements consistent with theneeds of the organization.
- Participates as amember of the IT management team in planning, problem resolution,and reviewing department performance.
- Maintainscurrency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-arttechnology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Performsmiscellaneous job-related duties asassigned.
