Job Purpose


To manage the project technically and contractually, organize, plan, schedule, and control the fieldwork, minimize extra costs for changes requested by the consultant/client.

Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

To take complete charge of a works on a particular Section of BNITC Project for its construction aspect as defined in the contract, and accepts liability for its correct execution within the framework of below:
The Project Manager / GM approved budget.

The overall QHSE regulations and BNITC policies,

The ethic chart defined by ARTAN Holding and BNITC procedures

The general and detailed planning, organizing, executing, monitoring and completion of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage project activities including shop drawings and all on site related construction activities. Coordinating and liaising with BNITC Design, Contract and PM/GM.
  • Coordinating QHSE, HR and Sub-Contractors Managers.
  • Initiate and formalize the takeover/handover from (or back to) the Employer or any other such third party.
  • Insure periodic renewal of permits and make them visible plus available on site at all times.
  • Initiate and regularly implement 3 weeks / months look ahead program.
  • To coordinate, monitor & control and supervision of civil engineering and architectural activities carried out by contractors working at the Projects adhering to HSE Guidelines and other Engineering disciplines.
  • To Prepare Cost Estimate, BOQ defining the scope. Supervising or preparing of Basic Engineering documents.
  • To carry out Technical discussions with bidders including evaluation of bids technically.
  • To check the design/drawings submitted by consultant for the suitability of site.
  • To Monitor and control resources, schedule, performance and cost.
  • To report the scope changes with deviation analysis.
  • Closing of Civil and Architectural activities, measurement checking, bill certifications etc. in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensuring completeness of asbuilt documentation and records and hand over to site engineering.
  • Establish local knowhow and market contacts in the relevant discipline and share with other/new project teams in Company's local and global works.
  • Perform other duties for the PM and management staff.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations; establish and maintain project risk registers.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met (scope of work).
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Establish and maintain the project handbook, project execution plan and procedures manual.
  • Develop, modify and Implement the project control system (i.e. forms etc) to match the requirements of the project.
  • Make executive decisions as required by the nature of the ongoing construction needs, except on those matters, which need to be discussed with the consultant before any action can be taken.
  • Comply with the clauses & requirements of all contract documents agreed between the consultant/client and all other parties and act accordingly.
  • Lead and manage project procurement, delivery and commissioning.
  • Liaise with consultant and client whenever required to avoid any conflict of interests.
  • Control all project budgets including consultant's fees.
  • Establish and maintain project risk registers.
  • Assist Contract Manager / General Manager in preparation of tender and contract documents. Undertake contract administration.
  • Ensure staff and subcontractors timesheets were accurately completed.
  • Maintain and complete project key performance indicators.
  • Update project plans to include agreed changes; revise of the plan whenever required.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Assist Contract Manager / General Manager in preparation in costing, estimating and planning projects.
  • Follow the project time schedule and taking corrective action for any deviation occurred from time to time.
  • Control the works of subcontractors at site.
  • Attend the meetings with the client/consultant and with all parties related to the project.
  • Provide guidance & support to team members.
