The successful candidate will assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for cataloguing, metadata and resource description and ensure they are implemented and followed.
Also, create and develop short-term and long-term project plans for the cataloging and processing of future and existing materials and collections that improve the discovery of and access to the UDST physical collection.
The successful candidate will apply cataloguing and metadata best practices to ensure that efficient, timely and appropriate access is provided to physical and digital collections.
And manage and assist in processing, cataloguing, classification, and serials management according to international standards.The successful candidate will create, update and modify database records in Integrated Library System (ILS) or other information management systems to ensure quality data and metadata, providing user-friendly access to collections.
Related tasks may include but are not limited to description of materials, transformation of metadata, training of staff in best practices related to metadata production and digital libraries, and reviewing the work of contributors to ensure that it adheres to relevant standards and procedures.
