Detailed job description, responsibilities:


  • As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will maintain reliable infrastructure so that our Forward Deployed Engineers and Product Teams can build products that solve our customers' hardest problems and can be counted on when they are needed most. You will work collaboratively with engineers to understand what they need to get their jobs done. You care deeply about the availability and security of our systems, and configuration as code is your tool for ensuring that everything is operating as it should.
Manage and secure Telecom-based cloud systems and networks at scale.
Work with tools to automate critical aspects of production systems such as: configuration management and deployment of infrastructure.
Maintain the stability and performance of the cloud platform.

Utilize the latest industry standard tools and practices to meet the evolving needs of our internal engineers/developers and external customers.

Design, implement, maintain, manage, and monitor all Cloud infrastructure and operational services
Design and implement scalability plan for all services
In depth knowledge in Redhat OpenStack,Cloudband and related cloud flavours.
Expert in configuring and troubleshooting Redhat OpenStack components
In depth understanding of plugins in Cloud Platform
Good experience in datacentre maintenance is require

Responsible for 2nd level support on all escalated incidents by analyzing faults, troubleshooting, researching existing knowledgebase articles/known issues and responsible for initiating and managing escalation to vendor L3 support.

Review cases for technical complexity and make recommendations to team members with regards escalation according to MS best practices and in accordance to agreed SLA.

Implement and supervise configuration management requests and planned activities.
Support all configuration changes required to the network
Integration and expansions of new virtual and physical network functions and new capability projects

Providing guidance for any technical issue and implementing knowledge transfer while ensuring that the knowledge management database is constantly updated with new skills and workaround.

Support in Software Upgrades for all Network Elements and Patch installation and upgrades.
Maintain register of all changes to the network
Management and execution of standard operating procedures
Maintain the network reference database
Manage resource conflicts and support projects
Provide advance fault management support for faults when required
Escalation of faults to product houses and/or 3rd party vendors
Manage to agreed SLA's on fault restorations for 3rd party vendors
Generation of all management reports - internal and external
Issue documentation for maintenance routines
Provide Specialist project support when required
Integration of new capability projects
Responsible for site handover and expansion check verification and reporting.
Ownership of Operational SLAs (Availability, latency, Data Bytes lost)
Sets internal and external KPIs to meet SLAs (e.g. Time to Respond/Restore, # of repeat visits)
Manage back-to-back SLA requirements with 3rd parties
Benchmark operational performance against global operations best in class
Set and review operational Skills Management Programs and training requirements
Together with the Engineering Network Quality Engineer lead all SLA metric reviews with customer
Manages Operational audits and reviews with global best in class processes
Sets OSS requirement roadmap and evaluates new tools and systems
Maintain and report the Operational Quality Balanced Scorecard
Provide preventative and corrective maintenance routines as required
Manage spares process for faulty equipment
On-Site preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on need basis
Supporting Technicians for critical issues and controlling movements
Responsible for investigating design defect and preparing recommendations.

Checking the transmission EMS performance on weekly basis monitoring the disk usage, network sizing, cleaning the unused files, backup and restore on regular basis.

Perform any other task as may be designated by line manager.
Establish and maintain a document control system.
Support the team to develop technical documents to a given standard
Spare parts management coordination
