    Asa Field Technician, you will be responsible for optimizing,maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing analog and digitalTwo-Way Radios and other wireless communication systems at thecustomer site and/or our facility. Duties include installation,preventative maintenance, testing, repairing, and modifying various2-way radio infrastructures, wireless messaging systems, orwireless broadband solutions. We perform system design,troubleshoot, program, and install radio equipment and wirelesssystems for a variety of customers. Wireless communications systemsinclude complex radio systems for public safety and enterprisecustomers. Our technicians must have excellent communicationskills, be motivated, customer service oriented and have aprofessional attitude andappearance.

    MustHaves:

    2+years of experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, andinstalling Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-wayradio wireless and /or communicationfield

    Knowledge/understandingof 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at variousfrequency bands and communicationssystems.

    Ability tointerpret schematics, blueprints, anddiagrams.

    Knowledge ofbattery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multi-couplersand duplexers, basic TCP/IP principles and NICprogramming.

    Proficiency inoperating various test equipment including but not limited to,spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDR s, FDR s,andmulti-meters.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install,maintain, and provide technical support and service of wirelesscommunications equipment such as: UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analogand digital systems. Operating mobile, portable radio equipment,dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventionaland trunked radiotechnologies.
    • Diagnose,troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipmentproblems with customers in a positive and efficientmanner.
    • Repaircustomer equipment by replacing defective modules or componentsthrough standard troubleshooting procedures andpractices.
    • Abilityto diagnosis and repair public address systems and BDAsystems.
    • Recommendappropriate hardware and peripheral equipment that meets customerrequirements.
    • Providehands-on and oversight of communications equipment and peripheralhardware installation such as base stations, repeaters, mobiledevices, portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and CCTVequipment. Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results in orderto repair and program radios and wirelessequipment.
    • Deliverand execute customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP),perform and document results of site surveys and assessments perdefined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and postinstallation.
    • Workwith customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules forcompleting installation and repairtasks.
    • Makeminor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer requestsand/or deploy factory software/firmwareupdates.
