Bachelor's degree in Library Science is essential
Librarian Certification is a must for this profession
Proven experience of working in a public services capacity
Excellent communication skills
2 years' experience in a library position
Fluent in Arabic and English
In depth knowledge of Library of Congress Cataloguing rules
Knowledge of library processes, systems and professional standards
Ability to use a wide variety of information databases e.g. WorldCat, JSTOR
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of queries from an
equally wide variety of visitors
Ability and willingness to make an equal shifts of evening, weekends and
holidays in rotation with other staff.
