I am currently employed as a Kindergarten Manager. My job responsibilities include drawing up curriculum plans that will ensure that each child is working towards the outcomes of the Early Years Foundation Stage and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum through its delivery in addition to monitoring and tracking the learning and development of all children and keeping the necessary records for this purpose. Besides, I was in charge of developing and maintaining a clean, safe, and high-quality learning environment that fosters the growth, happiness, and development of each child as well as building and maintaining effective communication and positive relationships with parents through a variety of communication platforms. Furthermore, I was responsible for providing all staff with relevant training and guidance to allow them to carry out their jobs by the existing processes and through annual performance reviews in addition to recruiting and selecting early years practitioners and making sure that those appointed are qualified and have the required skills. Moreover, I ensured that the kindergarten could run smoothly in the absence of the manager through appropriate delegation and teamwork. Last but not least, I was working with the management team and directors to ensure the kindergarten is operating profitably.
In my previous role as Vice Principal and Academic Coordinator at Shakespeare International Academy, I was tasked with a handful of different duties including, Designing, developing, and updating the UK Curriculum to meet the specific needs of our students and to ensure alignment with international education standards and best practices. Besides, I was in charge of conducting classroom observations to ensure that the pedagogical techniques were being applied as well as providing useful feedback to the teachers on their performance in addition to monitoring internal and external exam results to ensure optimum student academic performance. Furthermore, I was responsible for developing and supporting a high degree of student morale through curricular and extracurricular activities and programs in addition to allocating resources to best support school improvement. Moreover, I was providing training and professional development opportunities for teachers to enhance their understanding of the UK Curriculum as well as assisting with the recruitment, training, and onboarding of all new staff. Last but not least, I was liaising with the principal on all other operational day-to-day tasks across the school, including activities, admissions, communication with parents, events, ministry visits, parents' meetings, and trips.
Before this position, I spent two years working as a Private Schools Accreditation Specialist for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. During this period, I was introduced to the most crucial accreditation bodies for international schools, including CIS, NEASC, and WASC. I also attended intensive sessions designed to deepen my expertise in interpreting evaluation criteria to support the coherent application of the criteria in schools. Additionally, I played a part in evaluating many of Qatar's leading schools and improving their performance using the QNSA standards.
I have also worked as an English and Social Studies Teacher and Head of Department for 6 years at Al Manar International School. I was responsible for designing lesson plans that were aligned with the Common Core State Standard. Besides, I was in charge of providing support for academically low-performing students to help them improve as well as preparing and grading assignments to evaluate students' academic progress. Furthermore, I was leading the department in improving pedagogical inquiry and practice, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth in addition to ensuring that the school's vision, mission, and objectives are embedded in the departmental plans. Moreover, I was working with the department to design and implement activities and events. Last but not least, I was evaluating teachers in the department.
