    • Good chemistry or chemicalengineering foundation and practical knowledge of how it applies tomodern power plant and desalination planttechnologies
    • Specific knowledge of: coolingwater chemistry monitoring and dosing, HRSG chemistry monitoringand dosing, thermal desalination chemistry monitoring and dosing,demineralization of distillate and production of potablewater.
    • Ability to work with multi-cultural andmulti – disciplinary staff
    • Ability tocarry out duties with minimumsupervision
    • Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills with good command of English Language andComputer literacy
    • Ability to work and interactwith departments throughout theorganization.
    • Performs routine samplecollection from demin, desal, potable water, HRSG, condensate andfeed water, sea water, outfall, cooling water, waste water and Lubeoils quality testing and compares these with standards makescorrections to the process as necessary. Prepares reports andperforms or advises on chemical dosing under the supervision of theChief Chemist.
    • Prepares test solutions,compounds and re-agents to conducttests;
    • Receipt of bulk chemicals, transfer ofbulk chemicals, tank preparations and carry out acid /chemicalcleanings.
    • Ensuring compliance to legalobligations for monitoring and controlling potable water, emissionsand effluents.
    • Ensures compliance with all HSERegulations.
