• ProvideLegal advice to relevant internal departments on legal issuesreferred by General Counsel.
• Draft, review and negotiatecontracts on behalf of the organization's ventures, andensure that requisite corporate governance procedures are met withrespect to contractual arrangements.
• Review and draftinternal policies and regulations.
• Provide advice andguidance on corporate governance issues, and ensure that legaladvice given is consistent with the relevant company'scorporate governance regime.
• Develop standard agreementsand protocols for use by the wider Legal Department.
• Carry out such other duties as requested by the General Counseland/or Chief Executive Officer. Required Qualification
• Must have a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB)
• Must hold acurrent practicing certificate in either the US or UK or otherCommonwealth Jurisdiction. Required Experience
• At least10 years' experience and commercial knowledge related tothe oil and gas industry, preferably gained through working withmulti-national companies and/or top tier international law firms.
• Able to demonstrate excellent communication and draftingskills in English language. Arabic not essential but would bebeneficial.
• Strong negotiation skills, with extensiveexperience of negotiating commercial agreements.
• Able towork independently with little or no supervision, with the abilityto manage and prioritize workload.
• Experience ofmanaging junior lawyers, and teams of lawyers on specifictransactions
