Our partner is looking for a senior role VP - Container ShippingResponsibilities Work with CEO to create Container Shipping department strategies, goals, and programs.
Develop a strong input operations strategy, encompassing routes, ports of call, timetables, assets, network, services, linkage to other operating units, and geographical coverage (local, regional, etc.).
Create and implement a capacity management strategy to determine overall capacity, unit size, and number.Review and manage port, draft, LOA, and other external constraints on fleet units and capacity.
Coordinate and communicate with different company departments, such as Customer Solutions, Bulk Shipping, Logistics, Shipping Agencies, etc., to maximize synergies and help customers establish one-stop logistic solutions.
Manage annual estimated budgetsDevelop monitoring systems with Customer Solutions to improve customer relations.
Manage container fleet strategy, determine total container population (owned vs. rented containers), and monitor production trends and expenses.
Manage container shipping operations, including berthing, handling, port stay, port delays, productivity, etc.
Oversee loading and discharging plans in compliance with policies and procedures and follow-up on stowage plans with ship leadership.
Negotiate and manage Container Shipping services, consultants, clients, and programs.Recommend new Container Shipping employees and ensure all resources are available to complete assignments and activities.
Supervise Container Shipping staff, assign work, monitor performance, and review results.
Coach subordinates, identify training and career development needs, recommend training courses, and follow-up on personnel records like timesheets, discipline, vacations, leaves, and absenteeism.
Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and other norms and regulations.Ensure operations/work processes meet all legal, regulatory, and other norms and regulations at the highest level.
Protect the environment and employee health at all sites/work locations under their authority.
Help other BUs Requirements
Bachelors degree required.
Master of Economics, Management, Shipping, Marine Engineer, or Business Administration recommended years in container shipping is preferred.
10-15 years of leadership is ideal.
ERP/MS Office expert Business-fluent English Marine experience
Maritime Law, international transportation, logistics, supply chain dynamics, and practices should be understood. #J-18808-Ljbffr
