- Contribute to all activities of the bookstoreoperations.
- Hire, train, supervise and mentor studentemployees at the bookstore.
- Assist with maintainingrelationships with GU campus bookstore and GU mail services.
- Design and procure GU-Q branded promotional items andcustom branded merchandise for the university departments andcustomers. Key activities
- Accurately handle and processdaily sales, cash and card transactions, deposits and dailyreporting.
- Accurately maintain stock levels and restockorders as and when required.
- Assist in managinginventory and inventory audits.
- Assist in processing neworders for merchandise.
- Assist in textbook ordering bycoordinating with faculty, Academic Affairs, main campus bookstoreand regional publishers each semester.
- Assist withtextbook distribution for students in fall, spring, and summersemesters.
- Research, source and negotiate orders withvendors, adhering to ethics and compliance guidelines in purchasingand in hiring suppliers.
- Perform activities such asreceiving, pricing, shelving and distribution of textbooks andmerchandise to ensure accuracy within the department.
- Work with communications department to design and source uniqueGU-Q branded merchandise and promotional items for all universitydepartments from local and international vendors.
- Assistwith conceptualizing, designing and building creative and visuallyappealing window displays to promote GU-Q, faculty achievements andpublications, student programs and the GU-Q brand to external andinternal audiences.
- Assist with developing content topromote the Bookstore and GU-Q brand.
- Generate andanalyze sales reports & inventory valuation to determineappropriate inventory level on a monthly basis.
- Providean exceptional level of customer service to all constituents.
- Assist with book launches and other events that takeplace in the bookstore.
- Other similar duties, asrequired. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree incommunications, sales and marketing, or similar.
- 2+years of work experience in retail services, preferably at a campusbookstore.
- Experience in graphic design and tools suchas Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva.
- Experience in using POS; preferably Sage Evolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Abilityto demonstrate strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
- Positive attitude and desire to be in a customerservice-oriented environment.
- Familiarity withinternational and multicultural environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of Georgetown University's mission,values, and programs is preferred.
- Ability to workflexible hours, evenings, and weekends during events that requirebookstore presence.
