Job Overview:

Perform conceptual FEED Studies and details analyses anddesign as per design basis project specifications design codes andstandards. Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standardand nonstandard situations. Prepare clear and accurate detaileddesign calculations and analyses including design reports andprocedures. Manage own time to meet agreed deadlines and budgetsand develop plans for shortterm work activities in own area.Clearly communicates and explain complex issues and work toestablish understanding.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Be fully familiar withthe project scope of work specifications schedule and allinterdiscipline requirements; including identifying concerns asearly as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to addressthe issues
• Identify changes to scope andpromptly raise change notifications including providing anynecessary supporting documentation and estimates. Provide similarsupport for Variation Orders
• Interface withall discipline to develop clash free designs
• Interface with other departments to obtain input forDiscipline designs and drawings
• Maintainclose coordination with other engineering disciplines PlanningFabrication Marine and Project Management Team as required
• Document substantive communications(communications that result in significant decisions or assignmentof actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer andDiscipline Manager
• Assist in preparation ofestimates for bid proposals including technical query reviewsexecution statements and manhour estimates
• Raise technical queries to obtain missing informationclarify work scope and to maintain preferred McDermott proceduresspecifications standards practices and operational requirements
• Prepare Discipline engineering design basisphilosophies and technical specifications as required
• participate in finalizing deliverables lists anddeliverables ensuring compliance with specifications and functionalintegrity
• Attend project review meetingsvendor meetings engineering meetings and offshore site surveys asrequired
• Provide technical direction andreview of Designers producing products related to ProcessEngineering
• Prepare and review design reportsand procedures
• Assist in providing necessarydesign inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceedingwith their deliverables
• Assist procurementpersonnel in procuring Discipline equipment materials and services;ensuring that work produced complies with Customer objectives andprocedures. Procurement assistance includes preparing and reviewingrequisitions evaluating technical quotations and preparing queriescompiling bid tabulations and recommendations preparing purchaserequisitions and coordinating with Procurement to expedite vendordocuments as directed by Discipline Lead Engineer
• Assist in updating weight report based on receipt ofvendor information
• Check engineeringperformed by ithers within Discipline
• Reviewvendor and subcontractor submittals checking for compliance withproject specifications and providing comments as necessary
• Perform design verification throughsinglediscipline check / interdiscipline check (IDC)
• Provide technical support to all fabrication queriesincluding identifying defect / rectification requirements
• Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of allactivities and concerns technical budgetary and manpower related
• Assist in providing inputs for actualplanning and forecasting progress reports including associatedproductivity
• Check final subcontractor andvendor data manuals to ensure that all requested data has beenreceived and approved
• Participate in internalCustomer and third party technical audits on engineeringdeliverables and vendor documents
• Assist LeadEngineer with responses to Customer and other agencies (such ascertifying authorities auditors third parties etc.) on their reviewand approval
• Capture lessons learned andenter inti MDRs Lessons Learned system
• Capture Knowledge Objects and enter into MDRs K.nowsystem
• Act as a resource for colleagues withless experience
• Guide less experiencedengineers on MDR and Discipline procedures standards worksheetsdesign calculations software requisitions technical bid evaluationstechnical queries etc.
• Be aware of costsrelated to own work and of the discipline
• Responsible for preparing / checking the following keydeliverables applicable as per the Project scope;
  • Process simulations / heat and material balance
  • Process flow diagrams (PFD)
  • Piping and instrument diagrams/mechanical flow diagrams(P&ID/MFD)
  • SAFE charts
  • Process safeguarding diagram
  • Equipment and instrument process datasheets
  • Process specifications
  • Operatingphilosophy and startup and operating manuals
  • Equipment list (process data)
  • Linelist (process data)
  • Flare radiation anddispersion calculations
  • Depressurization andflare network study
  • Equipment and line sizingcalculations
  • Fluid lists
  • Process studies
• Review process information in supplier/vendor data forconformance with project requirements
• Provideprocess assistance to other disciplines by performing IDC /providing inputs as required for the following activities:
  • Layout review
  • Areaclassification drawings
  • Safety studies
  • Electrical load list
  • Equipment datasheets
  • Instrumentdatasheets
  • ESD and F&D logic diagramsand control narratives
• Provide technical coordination with outside agencies forthird party studies
• Provide assistance toprecommissioning and commissioning on process related site queries
• Assist in close out of HAZOP actionitems

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Senior Process Engineershould meet the following minimum criteria:
  • Should have FEED and EPCI experience in design of CPP andLQ facilities.
  • Should have minimum 12 yearsof Oil and Gas experience.
  • Should haveextensive experience in Process software ASPEN HYSYS FLARESIMPIPESIM PIPENET ASPEN EDR / HTRI.
  • Should haveexperience in Design of Compression facilities Separator sizingFlare system design Process and Utility systems calculations.
  • Should have experience in various Process andUtilities sizing calculations Line sizing Process Equipment sizingHeat exchangers sizing Relief and Blowdown calculations.
  • 6 yrs in oil and gas with major contractor orconsultant predominantly performing detail design of offshorefacilities
  • Bachelor Degree in ChemicalEngineering (Master Degree us Preferred)
