To develop an effective methodology for student counselling, and work collaboratively inside and
outside the College with the purpose of improving counselling tools and processes on a permanent
basis.
To assist in the creation of policies and associated documentation related to student counselling,
including self-help materials.
Acting as a key liaison between the students seeking counselling and the relevant members of the
College.
Maintain high standards of service and work within the best ethical standards of good practice.
To take an active role in raising awareness about the importance of student counselling, through
participation in student inductions, workshops and other events.
To develop and maintain an effective referral system, i.e. a list of situations and a network of people
(academics and other professionals) that students should be referred to when such situations occur.
To keep a system of concise and confidential records in line with the policies of the College, and
professionally manage confidentiality.
To analyze the data collected and produce reports regarding access to the service, and make
recommendations as appropriate.
