*ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED*JOB PURPOSE:The purpose of this role is to be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating SUDs Prevention programs conducted by Naufar Center. Prevention specialist engages with individuals, families, and communities to raise awareness, promote healthy behaviors, and reduce risk factors that contribute to substance use. This role involves collaboration with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to create supportive environments that foster resilience and well-being.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement evidence-based prevention programs tailored to various populations, including youth, adults, and at-risk groups.
Engage in outreach activities to educate the public on the risks of substance use, deliver presentations, workshops, and educational materials for SUDs awareness.
Conduct assessments to identify risk factors for substance use disorder in individuals, families, and communities and contribute to development interventions to reduce these risks.
Collaborate with stakeholders such as schools, healthcare organizations, law enforcement, and other community stakeholders to promote substance use prevention strategies.
Follow up and track the effectiveness of implemented prevention programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting and make a necessary adjustment programs based on feedback and outcomes.
Suggest policies, procedures and practices that support prevention efforts and reduce access to drugs and substances and stay updated on legislation and policy changes related to SUD.
Provide support and referral services to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder, assisting them access treatment resources as needed.
Prepare detailed reports on prevention programs and initiatives, activities, implementation progress, address challenges and present outcomes.Increases knowledge through the provision of evidence-based health information as appropriate by providing people with correct information related to SUD.
Leads and organize health promotion initiatives and health awareness campaigns on SUDs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders through appropriate marketing.
Develops educational materials (school posters, pamphlets, etc. and participates on developing educational materials (street posters, Media health programs etc.).Actively involves in developing national health strategies.
Participates on national awareness campaigns and serves as a resource person for health and wellness education and promotion.
Conducts learning needs assessment to identify education gaps and participates in screening campaigns to increase public awareness.
Plans and implements health and wellness education programs, evaluates the effectiveness of the education programs, and documents the programs in the organization records.
Participates in conducting research related to health and wellness education and promotion and develops appropriate data collection methodology, i.e., surveys, questionnaires etc.
Consults with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding patient's specific clinical and health related health issues and education needs.Participates in multi – disciplinary care teams and committees and promotes and advocates for evidence-based education.
Ethical, Legal and Professional Responsibilities:
Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules, and regulations that govern healthcare practice in Qatar.
Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and quality improvement and infection control standards.
Educational Responsibilities:
Attend Naufar's mandatory training courses and specific training courses relevant to a certain scope of practice as supervisor nominates and work need requirements.
Fulfil continuing professional development requirements and participate in relevant learning opportunities like conferences or seminars to enhance personal expertise and apply that expertise to providing continuous quality improvement of patient care at Naufar Centre.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health with the major in Health Education.
Master's degree in public health, behavioral health, sociology, or a related specialty.
Licensure / Certification:
Eligible for license from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar for Health and Wellness Educator Scope.
Valid Primary license from the country of origin (if applicable).
Experience:
Bachelor's degree holders.
(6) years of clinical work experience in healthcare setting out of which: (2) years' experience in relevant clinical service certified in Health Education & (1) year relevant experience to community health, behavioral health, or substance use prevention programs or Mental Health services.
