- Constantly patrolling areas where"hot work" is being performed, maintainingvigilance of potential fires.
- Being familiarwith facilities and procedures for sounding an alarm in the eventof a fire and having a means of notifying emergencyservices.
- Having fire-extinguishing equipmentreadily available and being well-trained in itsuse.
- Maintaining the conditions andrequirements stated on the safetypermit.
- Inspecting the entire work area to lookfor potential release of flammable vapors or liquids before,during, and at the end of each shift.
- Beingprepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors,and hose carts anytime.
- Never leaving the jobsite while the work is beingdone.
