- Assist the Discipline Manager inimplementing Construction Manager directives and ensuring thatconstruction activities comply with Project SHES, Quality, scheduleand budget objectives.
- Check construction methods andprocedures prepared by the Discipline Superintendent to ensuresmooth construction supporting the Project schedules and implementrecovery plans as required.
- Supervise and coordinateconstruction activities and coordinate between DisciplineSuperintendent to minimize interference between disciplines.
- Ensure appropriate construction scheduling, materialsand equipment installation and subcontractor performance. Asconstruction nears completion, transition from area focus tosystem/subsystem completion to support testing and handover toCOMPANY.
- Establish detailed construction plans andsixty-day schedules for the review of the Discipline Manager andobtain the approval from Construction Manager.
- Check andcontrol construction to ensure that quality and workmanship conformto engineering drawings and specifications and that safetyrequirements are fulfilled.
- Coordinate with COMPANY andsubcontractor counterparts.
- Ensure subcontractormanpower requirements are met. Plan, schedule and review workaccomplished by discipline.
- Ensure that sufficient plansand preparations have been made by Subcontractors to allow qualitywork to be completed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Review construction labor, material and equipment requirements andeffectively manage day-to-day activities of Discipline Supervisorsand Subcontractors.
- At the request of the projectcontrol department, review and comment on Subcontractor schedules,installation sequencing and coordination with other Subcontractors.
- In collaboration with Subcontractors, establish overall,monthly, and weekly schedules to achieve the required progress andmonitor Subcontractor schedules and cost and drive correctiveactions with Supervisors and Subcontractors in the field to ensureconstruction work is delivered on time at or below budgeted cost.
- Monitor discipline supervision to labor ratios ismaintained at all times.
- Liaise with Companyconstruction representatives to ensure they are fully appraised ofthe construction status at all times.
- With DisciplineSuperintendent, coordinate necessary interfaces and manage thetransfer of work from one Subcontractor to another.
- Coordinate with the material control department in a timely mannerto meet construction schedules.
- Manage Subcontractorsand Supervisors to ensure productivity and efficiency to meetProject targets and ensure work progresses to meet the overallProject schedules.
- Work in close co-operation with theQC department and QC supervision to ensure pre-fabrication anderection is carried out in a proficient and efficient manner.
- Monitor Subcontractor labor levels, review tradecomposition against progress, identify deficiencies and recommendremedial measures to Subcontractors.
- Distribute, assignaction and follow-up incoming correspondence.
- Work withthe Discipline personals and interface with the field engineeringdepartment for drawing changes and change control management (RFI,queries).
- Ensure that discipline personnel are assistingthe subcontract department in the following:Close-out ofSubcontractor commercial issuesIdentification of back charges andensure notification to affected partiesIdentification of insuranceclaimsIssuing of field Instructions/Site InstructionsInputtingChange OrdersProgress evaluations
- Ensure that disciplinepersonnel are considering the financial implications of allinstructions to Subcontractors, reducing CTJV costs wheneverpossible.
- Support introduction and maintenance processfor Subcontractors construction temporary facilities(TSF).Qualification And Background
- Minimum 20 years ofexperience in oil and gas project (prerebly in LNG), as GeneralConstruction Superintendent or Area Superintenent or Managerhandling multiple discipline construction activities in Large greenfield projects.
