    CollegeProfile:

    The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ninedepartments, covering a wide range of undergraduate specializationsin the Arts and Sciences including English Literature &Linguistics, Arabic Language, Humanities, Sociology, Social Work,Psychology, International Affairs, Policy, Planning &Development, Statistics, Chemistry, Mass Communication, BiologicalSciences, Environmental Sciences, and Material Science.

    The Collegealso houses graduate programs in Environmental Sciences, GulfStudies, Material Science, Statistics, and Arabic Language.
    Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non-Native Speakers.

    The College also houses established researchcenters namely the Center for Sustainable Development and the GulfStudies Center It is worth mentioning that as members of QU, CASfaculty members have excellent opportunities to secure intramuraland extramural funding for their research ideas.

    Qatar NationalResearch Fund (QNRF) is a major source of research funding, with anindividual project funding limit exceeding 600,000 $/project andstudent research funding programs.

    As the national and largestUniversity in the country, Qatar University is the recipient ofmost of the QNRF awards, with many research-active faculty membersable to win multiple grants.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Teach courses in the area of Sociology.
    • Contribute to various committees at the Program, College, andUniversity level
    • Contribute to the research profile ofCollege through research publications
    • Serve as studentadvisor
    • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Headof Department Qualifications
    • Ph. D. in Sociology
    • Strong peer reviewed publication record
    • Teaching experience at tertiary level
    • Familiar withEducational technologies used in higher education sector
    • Willingness to work with teams
    • Awareness of working withpeople from diverse backgrounds
    • Excellent written andoral communication skills
