    We arecurrently seeking to recruit Senior Lecturers/Lecturers for theSchool of Engineering and Construction. Thesuccessful candidates will be responsible for teaching variousmodules in the BSc (Hons) Mechanical Engineeringprogramme.

    AbouttheRole


    Candidatesjoining as senior lecturers or lecturers at this stage will beconsidered team members of the respective school. By demonstratingtheir leadership capabilities skills motivation and productivitythey will subsequently be considered for senior roles andresponsibilities within the school including positions such as DeanAssociate Dean Programme Leader Module Leader and Coordinator amongothers. There are ample opportunities for growth within theinstitution for the rightcandidates.


    Theideal candidate for this position will demonstrate the abilityto:

    Deliver a rangeof modules across the respectiveprogramme

    Develop teachingmaterials and assessments for the modules they deliver across theprogramme. All lecturers are also expected to make relevantcontributions to the development of teaching materials andassessments for all modules across programmes to ensure thatlearning objectives aremet

    Revise andupdate existing modules in line with the latest industrydevelopments

    Collaborate withindustry advisory boards to enhance the relevance and quality ofthe programme andmodules

    Developassessments for the programme modules ensuring compliance with LJMUguidelines and policies alignment with the assessment matrix andadherence to verification and external moderationdeadlines

    Serve as apersonal tutor for students across the programmeportfolio

    Actas an academic coach and mentor to students being available andwilling to discuss students concerns and issues their performanceand academicprogression

    Teach and assessstudents across a range of written and presentation skillsproviding individual feedback on studentsperformances

    Participate inextracurricular activities to build teamwork and studentengagement

    Supervise orcosupervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects withintheir field ofexpertise

    Comply with allLJMU academic regulations and Oryx Universal College QualityAssurance processes related to the modules and programmes theydeliver

    Contribute tothe continuous development of existing programmes and theintroduction of new programmes within theirschool

    Develop anddeliver CPD and short courses to enhance the School of Engineeringand Constructionsportfolio

    Engage inapproved research to contribute to knowledge in strategic priorityareas

    Prepare anddeliver lectures and seminars conduct tutorials practical sessionsworkshops and student field excursions at both undergraduate andpostgraduatelevels

    Attenddepartmental school and faculty meetings and serve on a number ofcommittees

    Commit tostructured and unstructured continuous professional and personaldevelopment to enhance performance career growth opportunities andunlock potential

    • Proactivelyand ondemand participate in other corporate and academic activitiesto contribute to the colleges strategy and growthplans.



    Requirements

    • Apostgraduate degree (preferably a PhD or being in the process ofcompleting a PhD in relevant research fields or a masters degreewith relevant industryexperience)
