    Reporting to the Head of Cameras, the cameraoperator will work across a range of factual, documentary, currentaffairs and lifestyle television programs. He/she will beresponsible for capturing high quality filming and visual storytelling. Understanding the program editorial story they will workclosely with the producers and director to convey they story to thetarget audience in the most creative and technicalway.

    JOBDESCRIPTION

    • The cameraoperator is responsible for the look, feel and technical aspects ofoperating the camera, mainly onlocation.
    • Working closely with the senior andseries producers, the producers anddirectors.
    • Maybe call upon to work with theassistant producers.

    OTHERDUTIES

    • Work withproducers and directors to determine all aspects offilming.
    • Work closely with the Director ofPhotography and other team members to ensure that the intendedshots are captured precisely.
    • Provide practicaland creative input to scene planning.
    • Select,assemble, and position equipment according to the editorialcontent.
    • Prepare cameras and test angles orcamera movements.
    • Shoot scenes according torequirements.
    • Capture quality footage from afixed or moving position.
    • Collaborate withmake-up artists, lighting and sound staff to produce the best finaleffect.
    • Resolve technical or practicalissues.
