    Planning for instruction at the yearly, unit,weekly, and/or daily level implementing school-mandated programs,strategies of instruction, and assessment to work with students toachieve the Learning Standards of the British Columbia CanadaMinistry of Education Curriculum
    Using effective teachingstrategies, learning, and professional resources available for thegrade to support instruction within curriculum guidelines and withthe use of school-mandated instructional frameworks and programs tocreate opportunities for differentiated learning for students withdifferent skill levels or learning styles
    Providingenrichment events and activities including but not limited to fieldtrips, showcases, concerts, plays, and productions. Events may beorganized at a class level and/or a school-widelevel
    Communicating assignments and objectives tostudents in a well-organized manner, using clear and preciselanguage
    Sending homework assignments that are anextension of clearly defined school activities, appropriate to theage, ability, and independence level of students, to provideopportunities for students to enrich, apply, and review lessons andpractice skills they have learned, including open-ended studentactivities
    Diagnosing, instructing, and evaluating thespecific needs of students who are struggling to meet gradeexpectations and seeking assistance as necessary from the SchoolSupport Program
    Using As Learning and For LearningAssessments to monitor student progress to plan instruction andprovide feedback regularly to students, their parents, and theschool administration
    Actively engage in discussions andplanning that take place at the Grade Level Team level and withinTeams across different grade levels, to enhance consistency ofpractice and student achievement
    Preparing formal reportcards and engaging in parent conferences according to the setdates
    Establishing and maintaining fair and juststandards for student behavior, with the guidance of the schoolCode of Conduct, to create an effective and safe learningenvironment
    Supervising students in the classroom, on theschool campus, and off-campus at school-relatedactivities
    Guiding, motivating, and supervising theclassroom assistant, if one is assigned to the class you areteaching
    Maintaining accurate, complete, and legiblerecords as required by the school policy
    Attending andtaking an active role in staff meetings including those focused onanalyzing student assessment and data for growthplanning
    Communicating concerns, ideas, and informationwith colleagues, students, the school administration, parents, andthe community in a professional and constructivemanner
    Maintaining a positive professional relationshipwith parents for the benefit of their children, including but notlimited to informing them of upcoming-week lesson summaries,behavioral issues, and their children'sprogress
    Displaying a willingness to understand the localculture and handle the cultural nuances in a caring and respectfulmanner
    Participating in professional developmentorganized by the school
    Attend Saturday school, not toexceed eight sessions for the school year

    Working hours:
    The official working hours are from 6:30 am to 2:20 pm. All classesstart at 7:00 am. Except for K2, BC Program classes end at 2:00 pm.
    K2 classes end at 1:10 pm.

    Classroom teachers are expected to staywith their children until they are picked up, which normally isbetween minutes after the end of classes.

    The first busride to school accommodation is at 2:30 pm.

    Therefore, teachers whoare residing in the school accommodation and are using the schoolbus are at the school from 6:30 am until 2:30pm.

    After-school collaboration meetings are conductedonce a week from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm where attendance isrequired.
    Meetings with parents of at-risk students wouldtake place after the official working hours asneeded.
