    Minimumqualifications:

    • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs of equipment and work onplatforms ladders and under raised floors.
    • Ability to work nonstandard hours and workrotations/shifts.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Typically have 4 years of experience in a HVACelectrical controls water chemistry generators mechanical orsimilar technical domain.
    • Experience working in data center environments includingbuilding and operating infrastructure.
    • Experience in critical facility operationmanagement.
    • Ability to performoperational assessment and risk analysis of thirdpartysites.
    • Ability to forecast resourcerequirements in a datadriven way.
    • Ability to forecast resource requirements in a datadrivenapproach.

    About the job

    TheData Center team designs and operates some of the mostsophisticated electrical engineering mechanical engineering andHVAC systems in the world. Facility Technicians at Google datacenters operate monitor and support physical facilities conditions.Some duties will include heating and cooling of air and water powersupply generators UPS systems electrical distribution and controland monitoring systems. You regularly help inspect maintain andrepair various data center systems such as piping and noncriticalelectrical or mechanical system components). Youll provide dailyassistance to senior technicians as you read blueprints/schematicsconduct tours of systems and assess their working order.

    You will develop creative approaches to reducingoperational costs while improving overall data center efficiency.You ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistentlymet identifying problems and making repairs quickly In emergencysituations or abnormal conditions you manage data centerperformance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time fromfailures.

    As a Data Center Technical OperationsManager you will partner with the Google Data Center Engineeringteam hardware operations network infrastructure and thirdparty datacenter extended workforce.

    In this role youwill be the advocate of the operations organization and will beresponsible to ensure operability maintainability and reliabilityare critical criteria for Google assets.

    Responsibilities

    • Supportthe site selection process.
    • Performoperational assessment and risk analysis of thirdparty colocationsites.
    • Own colocation sites facility operationwithin an area/region with full accountability for this areatactically and strategically.
    • Keep mainstakeholders informed about current work and discuss strategicdecisions and directions with them.
    • Contributeto focus area strategy and setting strategy for smaller localgroups.
