    Under the guidance of the Director ofEngineering / Engineering Supervisor or designate, to maintainequipment and building in high standard and to ensure that thehotel gives the illusion to every arriving guest that they are theonly person to have used thefacility

    Duties

    Duties& Functions:

    • To be responsible for plant– chillers, AC, chilled water, Pumps, Boilers, includingtesting and maintenance
    • To attend to repair andmaintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk in cooler andfreezers
    • To ensure that Health & Safetylegislation records are logged andmaintained
    • To source and Contract suppliers asrequired
    • To organize schedules & methodof works and risk assessments for plant relatedareas
    • To be on call for any plantemergency
    • To carry out PPMchecks
    • To carry out all air conditioning andrefrigeration system management andservicing
    • To participate in hotel energyconservation program
    • To attend all on jobtraining in accordance with the departmental standard andprocedures
    • To supervise the issue of toolsrelating to the Engineering department and their safereturn
    • To be responsible for contractorsworking on site, their safety induction and maintenance of recordsof all jobs undertaken
    • To liaise withcontractors and suppliers
    • To raise, accept andmonitor POs
    • To accept deliveries in anappropriate and timely manner
    • To supervise themaintenance team any external contractors who may be employed bythe hotel to carry out maintenance work
    • Toensure that all records in the areas of health and safety are keptup to date
    • To form part of the fire team andassist in any emergencies which may arise
    • Tomonitor the utility readings for the hotel to ensure good powermanagement
    • To be aware of changes inregulations, environmental issues
    • To carry outother work which might reasonably be required and to be availablefor emergency callout
    • To work closely withAssistant Director of Engineering to help re-organize thedepartment to ensure an efficient process ofworking
    • To plan small guest projects to ensureminimum impact
    • To oversee the team'swork and contractors' work to ensure deadlines are metand work is completed to a setstandard
