- Prepare,independently or in collaboration with others, research proposalsto national, regional and international agencies in order to securefunding
- Help develop research strategy and contributewith other research team members in the development of surveymethodologies, implementation of fieldwork data analysis, and thereview and writing of reports
- Assist with, and whereappropriate be responsible for, policies and procedures to ensurethat work meets research quality objectives toward accreditationstandards
- Represent the organization as a prime or leadresearch contact on projects or proposals
- Support seniorstaff on one or more projects, manage small and medium-sizeprojects and participate in research with minimumsupervision
- Guide and mentor junior staff, oversee thedesign of research tools, such as questionnaires and interviewguides, by junior staff, and direct the activities of supportstaff
- Perform fieldwork protocols, supervise fieldworkimplementation, and ensure appropriate documentation of researchand accuracy of reports in order to produce reliable and precisedata
- Alone and in collaboration with other researchstaff, produce and publish original research papers and reports onpriority research topics in peer-reviewed professional publicationsand present them at scientific gatherings at the national, regionaland international levels
- Help maintain close ties withrelevant social research institutes and plan and develop scientificgatherings
- Provide training on specific research dataanalysis techniques in own area of specialty and on protocols andtechniques of data collection and analysis to researchers andgraduate students
- Doctoral degree
- 2-5 years of relevantexperience
- 3 publications as principal author
- Competent professional level of knowledge of principles, theories,professional concepts and techniques of discipline plus generalknowledge of other disciplines. Experience applying anddemonstrating these competencies in solving a range of complextechnical problems. Learning to lead and manage complex technicalprograms and projects across organizational units
- Excellent writing and speaking skills - ability to draft/ edit avariety of written reports and communications and articulate ideasclearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
