- Prepare andrecommend budgets and monitor financial performance versus thebudget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenuesand areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified rectifiedpromptly and potential performance improvement opportunities arecapitalized upon.
- Develop of longrange financialforecasts and related budgets perform variance analysis to comparebudgeted figures to forecasts (profitability analysis) and consideralternative scenarios and economic prospects as appropriate toensure accurate forecasting is achieved.
- Support thecapital planning and capital approval process in order to assistsenior management in their decision making processes.
- Monitor and control OPEX costs in the Groups cost centers andreport on actual costs versus budgets highlighting anydiscrepancies.
- Monitor and control CAPEX costs ofprojects within the Group.
- Assist the Group Manager withgetting OPEX and CAPEX approvals and ensure cost containers are setup in SAP e.g. PRs/POs CEP WBS etc.
- Monitor and controlconsumption and inventories of raw materials and spare parts.
- Ensure inventory and consumption levels in IT systemsare reconciled with physical verification and measurements/counts.
- Ensure the output from the production process isreconciled with Qatalums IT systems and other information sources(e.g. warehouse reports).
- Develop and implement keyfinancial indicators to ensure that the group is working towards acommon set of objectives and goals.
- Maintain accuraterecords of production and maintenance financial activities for usein review and planning.
- Develop and implementcommunication and training packages to ensure personnel are awareof and understand financial KPIs and the Valued Based ManagementPrinciples.
- Follow of all relevant operationalprocedures and instructions so that work is carried out in acontrolled and consistent manner.
- Generate or assist ingeneration of any departmental reports are prepared as permanagement request in a timely and accurate manner to meet companyand department requirements governing reporting.
- Providetimely and accurate financial data to the departments Managementteam and accounts department through scheduled meetings reports andpresentations in order to keep them informed.
- Complywith all agreed occupational health safety and environmentalregulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets.
