    Overview /Responsibilities Wood is recruiting for a Senior Site SafetyOfficer to join our team in Qatar for a permanent/staff role.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in and supervise all siteactivities and initiatives from HSSE prospective
    • Responsible for the HSSE scope of subcontractor to ensure theSubcontractor perform the work to Wood HSSE standard
    • Supervise the subcontractor personnel to ensure they perform allwork to agreed standards for safety, health and environment and toattaining high levels of HSE performance
    • Ensure assignedscope of work is carried out without any significant HSE incidents
    • Ensure site activities are carried out on time and inaccordance with Client safety requirements
    • Champion HSEand ensure that all Project HSE requirements are implemented andadhered to
    • Responsible for subcontractors supervision inrespect of HSE, method, working practices, quality and timelyexecution of the works
    • Advise on best practices
    • Responsible for subcontractors Risk Management to ensureall risks / opportunities are identified and appropriatecontrols/mitigations developed and implemented
    • Responsible for coordination with regard to SIMOPS
    • Ensure that construction hazards and risks are fully considered bysubcontractors and that appropriate mitigation actions areimplemented and appropriate action taken
    • To be fullyfamiliar with the subcontractors methods of construction, scheduleand procedure
    • Initiate and manage continuous improvementprocesses
    • Provide input to daily progress report Skills/ Qualifications Qualifications/Skils:
    • NEBOSHOccupational Health and Safety Certificate (Minimum)
    • Good HSE awareness and commitment
    • Good written andverbal communication skills
    • Good technical, team andinterpersonal skills
    • Ability to lead a construction teamsafely across multiple work fronts, demonstrating agile techniquesfor planning the work
    • Ability to lead a diversemultidiscipline team
    • Ability to make independentdecisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to developsolutions to complex HSSE problems
    • Experience withcontractors, in particular those involved in Oil and Gas facilities
    • Familiar with QatarEnergy safety requirements Mandatoryrequirements:
    • Familiar with QatarEnergy HSE Regulationsfor Contractors
    • Familiar with and having had directexperience supervising work at Mesaieed / Dukhan / Ras Laffan andoffshore facilities
    • Proven record of successful deliveryof similar work activities
    • Experienced inconducting/leading daily tool box talks and start-ups for planningthe teams daily work
    • Conversant with the preparation ofJob Hazard Analysis, risk assessment etc.
    • You'llneed to be physically fit and able to go offshore to support sitesurveys
