    Role Summary:

    TheManager Operations Audit will be primarily responsible forconducting the planning fieldwork and reporting stages ofindividual Operations audit assignments on daytoday basis in linewith the approved annual audit plan pertaining to the incumbentsarea of responsibility including timely completion thereof andadherence to internal auditing best practices including but notlimited to the Standards for the Professional Practice of InternalAuditing (SPPIA) recommendations and guidelines of the BaselCommittee on Banking Supervision and other applicablestandards.

    The above role will also extend tothe secondary responsibilities assigned to the Operations& Retail Audit team in terms of specificactivities/functions/departments to be audited in addition to theprimary responsibility with respect to the Operations auditactivities/functions.

    Role Description:
    • Supervise/conductindividual assignments as per the approved annual audit plan(comprising Operations audits and the other functions/activitiesassigned as mentioned above) and ensure completion of the samewithin the budgeted/allocatedtime.
    • Identify and evaluatethe risks involved on the individual audit assignments by using therisk assessment methodology/parameters developed by Group InternalAudit Division (GIAD).
    • Adhere to the procedures/ guidelines contained in the internalaudit Policy & Procedures manual in the conduct oftheir daytoday responsibilities/tasks encompassing audit planningfieldwork communication of draft audit findings to auditeemanagement and obtaining their responses on the findingsraised.
    • Prepare theindividual audit programs for the respective audit/reviewassignments for adequacy.
    • Review the adequacy of the risk management processes in place todetermine the quality of the risk exposures relevant to theOperations in banking.
    • Prepare the communications for and participate in the audit openinginterim and closing meetings with relevant auditee and executivemanagement. Also provide additional explanations/clarificationsrequired by management on individual audit findings during theinterim/closing meetings.
    • Prepare the draft audit report for submission to theaudit/assignment incharge for hisreview.
    • Participate inconducting special audits/investigation assignments for review ofproblem areas or for certain specific reasons as and when directedby the superiors.
    • Conductthe postaudit followup of audit reports and to ensure compliancewith recommendations as per instructions from audit management ifrequired.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor degree in financeaccounting economics banking or other relatedsubjects.
    • Professionalqualifications such asCIA/CBA/CMA/CPA/CA/ACCA.
    • Minimum of 6 years experience in a major bank or leading audit firmwith specific operations and retail banking knowledge of 3 years ina supervisory role.
    • Goodoral and written communication skills in English and Arabic(preferred).
    • Knowledge oflegal and documentation requirements pertaining to the incumbentsarea of responsibility.
    • Knowledge of Basel Committee on Banking Supervision best practicespertaining to the area ofresponsibility.
    • Goodunderstanding of risk concepts retail banking operations/systemsand pertinent regulatoryrequirements.
    • Ability tomotivate lead and directsubordinates.
    • Goodanalytical and interpersonalskills.
    • Selfmotivated withan eye for detail.
    • Abilityto lead more than one assignment at the sametime.
    • Working knowledge ofMS Office Suite and Computer Assisted Audit Techniques such asACL.
    • Working knowledge ofapplicable International Accounting Standards (IAS) and relatedpronouncements
