    Lead Structural Design engineer is primarilyconcerned with designing and constructing buildings and structuresthat are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to whichthey will be exposed, as well as improving the structural integrityof existing buildings. Lead structural engineer is also responsiblefor team management, workload monitoring & managingresources.

    Duties &Responsibilities, (include but not limitedto):

    · Supervise& analyze configurations of the basic structural componentsof a building or other structure.

    ·Supervise & calculate the pressures, stresses and strainsthat each component, such as a beam or column etc., will experiencefrom other parts of the structure due to human use or environmentalpressures such as weather orearthquakes.

    · Select appropriateconstruction materials, considering the strength of variousmaterials, e.g. concrete, steel and brick, to see how theirinclusion may necessitate a change of structuraldesign.

    · Liaise with other designers,including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit withthe aesthetic concept of theconstruction.

    · Examine structures atrisk of collapse and advising how to improve their structuralintegrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defectiveparts or rebuilding the entirestructure.

    · Developing and directingproject plans with the Engineering Project Manager (e.g. projectbudget, schedules, and change management requirementsetc.)

    · Prepare, monitor, and updateproject plans, schedules, and budgets (including staffing needs) toproject management and departmentmanagement

    · Obtaining planning and/orbuilding regulations approval.

    ·Supervise preparing drawings, specifications and computer models ofstructures for buildings.

    · Applyexpert knowledge of the forces that act on variousstructures.

    · Reviewing, monitoringand ensuring compliance requirements are met for design and (e.g.Standards, specification and local codes and regulationsetc.)

    · Use computers andcomputer-aided design (CAD) technology & other relatedapplications for simulationpurposes.

    · Define scope of work,prepare estimate and schedule for structural engineering portion ofwork in a project.

    · Revise structuralshop drawings & documents.

    ·Manage structural team & theirworkload.

    · Provide advice totechnical team as & whenneeded.

    · Provide the support andcooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements andAudits.

    · Provide the support andcooperation in regards to the Business development &tenders management activities whenrequested.
