    EXPERIENCEANDEDUCATION:

    EssentialQualifications/Experience:

    2+years of demonstrable experience in security monitoring andanalysis of enterprise level cloud environments (AWS and/orAzure)
    Comprehensiveknowledge of the principles of computer and communicationssecurity, networking, and the vulnerabilities of modern operatingsystems andapplications
    Expertisein at least three of the following areas and a high level ofexperience in several of the otherareas:
    Securitymonitoring and analysis using a variety of Security Eventgenerating sources (e.g. Firewalls, IDS, Routers, EDR andAV)
    Cloudarchitectures and technologies (AWS and/orAzure)
    Managingsecurity operations in public cloud services (AWS and/orAzure)
    MicrosoftSentinel
    AWScloud securitytools
    SplunkES suite and Splunk Search Processing Language(SPL)
    PhantomSOAR playbookdevelopment
    Securityuse case development aligned to the MITRE ATT&CKFramework

    DesirableQualifications/Experience:
    Industryleading certification in the area of Cybersecurity, such as GCIA,GPCS, GCLD, GNFA, GCIH, CCSP, GSFE, GCFA, GCED,OSCP
    Asolid understanding of Information Security Practices relating tothe Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information (CIAtriad)
    Experienceworking with Full Packet Capture Systems e.g. Niksun,RSA/NetWitness
    Experienceworking with Host Based Intrusion Detection systems(HIDS)
    Experiencewith Network Based Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) e.g.FirePower, Palo Alto Network ThreatPrevention
    Strongknowledge of malware families and network attackvectors
    Knowledgeand experience in analysis of various threat actor groups, attackpatterns and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), in-depthanalysis of threats across enterprise environments by combiningsecurity rules, content, policy and relevantdatasets
    Abilityto analyse attack vectors against a particular system to determineattacksurface

    DUTIES/ROLE:
    Providesubject matter expertise in the area of cyber security monitoringand detection within cloud infrastructureenvironments
    Triage,analyse and respond to alerts originating from complex cloudinfrastructure deployments and on-premise networks and securitydevices
    Identifysecurity gaps in NATO cloud security infrastructure, in addition todeveloping and maintaining new and existing use cases, using ouron-premise SIEM solution (i.e., Splunk EnterpriseSecurity)
    Developprocesses for cloud security monitoring, including documentation ofall usecases
    Reviewcurrent log collection state for NATO cloud environments, identifygaps and suggestimprovements
    Analysethreat intelligence pertinent to cloud environments to identify anynew and developing securityrisks
    Proposeand work towards automating repetitive tasks related to cloudsecurity monitoring anddetection
    Providetraining and support to other members of the organisation on thesubject of cloud security best practices and incident responseprocedures
    Beflexible and support your colleagues in securing NATO networksthrough ad hoctasks
    Ensurethat the organisations cloud infrastructure and security practicescomply with applicable laws, regulations, and industrystandards
    Providean average of 139 hours/month working on-site, embedded in the NCSCOps Branch located in SHAPE, Casteau,Belgium
    Developnew alerts, searches, reports and dashboards for securitymonitoring and detection specific to cloud environments. Each usecase must reference the MITRE attackframework
    Triage,analyse and respond to alerts. All critical alerts will beresponded to within threehours
    Theservice provider is expected to take the initiative to identifydetection gaps, monitor the latest threats and offer suggestionsfor new content to the management team. Where possible fullcoverage of the MITRE attack framework is required. In some cases,it may be necessary to leverage solutions provided within the cloudenvironmentitself
    Provideand maintain full documentation for all cloud use cases, detailingthe purpose of the use cases, how the logic functions and theactions that should be taken during aninvestigation
    Developdashboards that can provide situational awareness related to thesecurity of the organisations cloud security infrastructure.Including service KPIs and incident responsemetrics
    Respondto ad hoc tasks given by the service delivery manager and cellhead
    Proposeat least five security content optimisations and enhancements perweek within cloudenvironment
    Theservice provider is expected to provide accurate and completedeliverables in accordance with internalprocesses
    Theservice provider shall be responsible for complying will allapplicable local employment laws, in addition to following allSHAPE & NCIA on-boarding procedures. Delivery of theservice cannot begin until these requirements arefulfilled
    Eachprovider of this service must pass an assessment to demonstrateproficiency before being approved to provide the service. Theassessment will follow a brief familiarisationperiod
    Foreach individual delivering the service, the provider shall allocate10 working days to the initial NCSC Ops familiarization andassessment process. Delivery of the service cannot begin until thisiscomplete
