    • Become fully familiar with theproject scope of work, specifications, schedule and allinter-discipline requirements, including identifying concerns asearly as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to addressthe issues. Interpret contractual requirements as they relate toengineering execution.
    • Identify changes toscope and promptly raise change notifications, including providingany necessary supporting documentation and estimates. Providesimilar support for Variation Orders.
    • Interfacewith all disciplines to develop clash freedesigns.
    • Interface with other departments toobtain input for Discipline designs anddrawings.
    • Maintain close co-ordination withother engineering disciplines, Planning, Fabrication, Marine, andProject Management Team, as required.
    • Documentsubstantive communications (communications that result insignificant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copiesto Discipline Lead Engineer and DisciplineManager.
    • Prepare estimates for bid proposals,including technical query reviews, execution statements and manhourestimates, identifying software requirements and any otherproject-specific requirements.
    • Raise technicalqueries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and tomaintain preferred McDermott procedures, specifications, standards,practices and operationalrequirements.
    • Prepare, review, and (as LeadEngineer) approve Discipline engineering design basis,philosophies, and technicalspecifications.
    • Participate in finalizingdeliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance withspecifications and functional integrity.
    • Reviewproject schedule and fabrication schedule in relation toconstruction sequence, milestones, and engineeringscope.
    • Attend project kickoff and reviewmeetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings and offshore sitesurveys, as required.
    • Provide technicaldirection and review of Designers producing products related toInstrumentation and ControlsEngineering.
    • Prepare, review, and (as LeadEngineer) approve design reports andprocedures.
    • Assist in providing necessarydesign inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceedingwith their deliverables.
    • Assist procurementpersonnel in procuring Discipline equipment, materials andservices; ensuring that work produced complies with Customerobjectives and procedures. Procurement assistance includespreparing, reviewing, and (as Lead Engineer) approvingrequisitions, evaluating technical quotations and preparingqueries, compiling bid tabulations and recommendations, preparingpurchase requisitions, and coordinating with Procurement toexpedite vendor documents, as directed by Discipline LeadEngineer.
    • Assist in updating weight reportbased on receipt of vendor information.
    • Reviewand (as Lead Engineer) approve vendor and subcontractor submittals,checking for compliance with project specifications and providingcomments as necessary.
