Project Manager,Operations & Maintenance

Preferably with Roadsexperiences in Qatar with Australian Road Maintenance and OperationEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Completion of 5 year University Degree inEngineering or Applied Science or equivalent Minimum of 10 years ofprofessional experience in roads projects in Qatar in the planning,design and construction of municipal infrastructure, including aminimum of 10 years of project management experience.

KNOWLEDGE -Engineering planning, design, operations, andconstruction/rehabilitation of municipal structures, infrastructureand utilities - Related federal, provincial, and engineeringlegislation, regulations, standards, codes and by-laws pertainingto environmental impact assessment, building, fire, health andsafety, construction - Processes for conducting and analysingenvironmental impact assessments - Principles of projectmanagement, including cost containment/control and reporting -Process for developing Request for Qualifications &Requests for Proposals, including acceptance, review and selectionof consulting engineers - Processes for tendering and contractingwork - Protocols for responding to senior management/councillorinquiries, conducting public consultation and preparing reports,briefing notes and other communiqués - Must possess thetraining, experience and knowledge to organize the work and itsperformance - Must be familiar with all applicable health andsafety legislation, have knowledge of any potential or actualdanger to health or safety in the work place, and have knowledge ofappropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health andsafety of staff in accordance with applicable legislation and citypolicies and procedures COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Managemultiple projects and bring the projects to completion according toschedule and within budget - Manage activities of technical staff,consultants, contractors, and co-ordinate activities with otherlevels of governments and external agencies/utilities - Prepareformal RFQ's and RFP's; review, analyze andrecommend acceptance of proposals from consulting engineering firms- Communicate effectively orally and in writing to internalcouncillor inquiries and inquiries/complaints from the generalpublic and to present technical material in formats conducive tovarious audiences - Identify and recommend the solutions to healthand safety issues and problems to ensure the safety of employeesand contractors and to mitigate loss/project downtime - Thorough,self-motivated and reliable - Organized and attentive to detail -Exhibit tact, discretion and sound judgment - Able to deal withcontentious issues and situations - Analytical - Effectiveinterpersonal and presentation skills - Team player - Leadership,initiative, motivation and creativity - Flexible and able to dealwith elected officials, representatives from all levels ofgovernment, the public, consultants/contractor
