    The Da Cruz laboratory ()is looking for a passionate and highly motivated student candidatein computational Our team focuses on investigating diseasemechanisms and novel therapeutic approaches for devastatingneurological disorders including Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), the second most common Weuse a combination of sophisticated mouse models and cutting-edgehuman stem cell and genome editing approach to model ALS and Toidentify novel disease targets and biomarkers the team recentlyperformed state-of-the-art spatial omics technologies (includingsingle-cell and spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, andlipidomics) for the lower motor circuity which is the mostvulnerable in

    In this project, the candidate will develop newcomputational strategies to analyze and integrate readily availablemulti-omics datasets to identify axon-specific RNAs in health anddisease and elucidate critical unknown determinants ofaxonal/synaptic maintenance and loss during The candidate will alsobe co-hosted in the Laboratory of Multi-omic IntegrativeBioinformatics (LMIB) and co-supervised by Sifrim, where she/hewill collaborate in the development of novel AI-driven tools fordata integration and pattern recognition in the context of this Theproject will require careful planning, coordination, communication,motivation, and ;

    We are seeking highlymotivated, creative, and collaborative applicants with a backgroundin omics data analysis, bioinformatics, and/or biostatistics aswell as a deep interest in neuroscience to advance our studies onthe molecular mechanisms underlying muscle denervation and axonaldegeneration, the early hallmarks of Elucidating these mechanismsis critical to our understanding of the disorder and key to thedevelopment of novel therapeutic ;

    Thecandidate will disseminate the results at national andinternational conferences, publish scientific reports and prepareand defend a doctoral thesis ;

    Profile

    • You have a master's inBioinformatics, Bio-engineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences,Artificial Intelligence, or
    • Graduation withdistinction (or more).
    • Motivation andcommitment to pursuing a in the field of neurodegenerative
    • Experience with the analysis of NGS/omics data
    • Proficiency in Python and R as well as aworking knowledge of bash/shell scripting
    • Experience working in a Linux and/or HPCenvironment
    • Experience with machine-learningand associated packages ( PyTorch, Keras) is a plus
    • Other required competencies: proactive,communicative, accurate, ability to work independently and in amultidisciplinary team, good organization, and coordination ;
    • Prior experience working in a wet lab is aplus
